Loggia Chess
Play and learn chess, calmly. Twelve computer levels from first moves to expert, 120,000 puzzles with a daily puzzle, Puzzle Rush and Survival, thirty lessons, and a review of every game that shows the better move and says why. Pass and play with a friend on one device. Everything works offline, with no account. Loggia Plus, one optional purchase, removes the ads and adds four more boards and piece sets.

Common questions
- Is "about 1,200" an official rating? No. Levels are measured on Loggia's own scale, by playing each level against the next hundreds of times, so the steps are even. Treat the number as a guide.
- The game was drawn and I did not offer a draw. Threefold repetition, the fifty-move rule, stalemate and positions where neither side can mate are draws by the rules of chess, and Loggia ends them for you. The result card says which rule applied.
- What does Loggia Plus do? It removes every ad and adds four boards and four piece sets. It is one payment, not a subscription, shared with your family through Family Sharing. Every level, puzzle, lesson and review stays open to everyone without it.
- I bought Loggia Plus on another device. Settings, Purchases, Restore Purchases, or the Loggia Plus row on Home.
- When do ads appear? A small banner on the Puzzles, Learn and Games screens, and now and then one full-screen ad after you leave a finished game or after ten rated puzzles. Never in your first session, never during a game, a puzzle, a lesson or a review.
- Can I move my games to another app? Yes: Settings, Export all games writes one PGN file, and Games, Import reads PGN and FEN from a file or the clipboard.
- Game Center? Optional: leaderboards for puzzle rating, Puzzle Rush and Survival, and 18 achievements. On iOS 15 and 16 the app never asks you to sign in until you tap the Game Center row.
Privacy
The short version: no account, and the app never asks to track you. Your games, ratings and settings stay on your device. Ads are never personalised. The app counts how it is used and reports crashes so we can fix them, and you can switch that off in Settings. The full privacy policy has the detail.
Credits
The chess engine, the lessons, the boards and the pieces were made for Loggia Chess. The puzzles and the opening book come from the Lichess open database, and the opening names from lichess-org/chess-openings, all released under CC0; thank you to everyone who built them. Fonts: Marcellus and Figtree (SIL Open Font License). Uses Google Mobile Ads with the User Messaging Platform, and Firebase Analytics and Crashlytics by Google.
