Loggia Chess · Privacy
Last updated 5 October 2026.
Loggia Chess needs no account. Your games, ratings, lessons, puzzles and settings stay on your iPhone or iPad; nothing you play, type or import is sent to us. We do not sell data, ads are never personalised, and the app never asks to track you.
Ads are served by Google AdMob: a banner on the Puzzles, Learn and Games screens, and now and then one full-screen ad after you leave a finished game against the computer or after ten rated puzzles. Ads never appear in your first session, during a game, a puzzle, a lesson, the daily puzzle, Puzzle Rush, a review or the analysis board. Every request is non-personalised and limited to content suitable for all ages: the app never shows the App Tracking Transparency prompt and does not read the advertising identifier. AdMob may still process device information, such as an approximate location from the network, the device type and an advertising-related identifier set by Google, to serve, limit and measure ads and to prevent fraud. See how Google uses information from apps that use its services.
In the European Economic Area, the UK and Switzerland, Google's consent form appears on Home before any ad is requested, and never over a game. Your answer is stored on the device by Google's User Messaging Platform. Where the law asks for it, Settings, Privacy has a "Privacy choices for ads" row to change your answer at any time.
We use Google's Firebase Analytics to count how Loggia Chess is used (for example when a game starts and ends, its level and result, puzzles attempted and their rating band, lessons completed, which board theme is chosen, and whether Loggia Plus was bought or restored) and Firebase Crashlytics to receive crash reports and reports of files that could not be read. These carry an app instance identifier, the device type and the system version, never your name, your games, positions or anything you type. Settings, Privacy, "Share usage and crash data" switches both off, and crash reports recorded while it is off are deleted rather than sent later.
Leaderboards and achievements use Apple's Game Center, only if you sign in. Your Game Center name, your best puzzle rating, your best Puzzle Rush and Survival scores and your achievements are then shared with other players through Apple, under Apple's privacy policy. On iOS 15 and 16 the app asks Game Center only when you tap its row.
Purchases are handled by Apple. We learn only whether Loggia Plus is owned, to turn off the ads and open the extra boards.
The puzzles and the opening book are built from the Lichess open database (database.lichess.org) and the opening names come from lichess-org/chess-openings, all released under CC0 (public domain). They ship inside the app; using them sends nothing anywhere.
Loggia Chess is suitable for all ages and its ads are limited to content suitable for all ages. It is not directed at children under 13 and collects no information knowingly from them.
Analytics and crash reports can be turned off in Settings, Privacy at any time, and ad consent can be changed there where the law requires it. Loggia Plus turns every ad off, and the ads SDK is then never started. Deleting the app removes everything it kept on the device.
