The short version

Windup Works needs no account and shows no ads. Your companies, records and settings stay on your iPhone or iPad, with a copy in your own iCloud (if iCloud sync is on) so your other devices can continue them; we cannot read that copy. We do not sell data, and the app never asks to track you.

Analytics and crash reports

We use Google's Firebase Analytics to count how Windup Works is played (for example when a company starts, the size, type and review of a released toy, office moves, research, and whether the Full Company was bought or restored) and Firebase Crashlytics to receive crash reports and reports of saves that could not be read. These carry an app instance identifier, device type and system version, never your name, your company's or toys' names, or anything that identifies you. Settings, Share usage and crash data switches both off.

Game Center

Leaderboards and achievements use Apple's Game Center, only if you sign in from Home. Your Game Center name, your Legacy at the end of a Standard run, your best review streak and your achievements are then shared with other players through Apple.

iCloud

With iCloud sync on (Settings), each company's latest save and your records are kept in your own iCloud key-value storage, which only your devices signed in to your Apple Account can read. Turning it off keeps everything on the device.

Purchases

Purchases are handled by Apple. We learn only whether the Full Company is owned, to open the rest of the game.

Children

Windup Works is suitable for all ages. It is not directed at children under 13 and collects no information knowingly from them.

Your choices

Analytics and crash reports, and iCloud sync, can each be turned off in Settings at any time. Deleting the app removes everything it kept on the device; the iCloud copy is removed from Settings on your device, under your Apple Account, iCloud storage.
